# How do I clean and care for saddle leather or greased leather?

As part of its regular maintenance and care, **saddle leather** should be cleaned every three months with our MILD LEATHER CLEANER and regreased with our “Elephant Leather Grease”. For everyday cleaning, it suffices to occasionally dust the leather with a feather duster or a dry dust cloth. Absorb fresh stains with a terry cloth or household cloth by squeezing it between your fingers. Do not rub! Residual stains can be further cleaned with a slightly damp terry cloth. To avoid water marks, do not wet the cloth too much and do not rub too vigorously. Dry the darkened, wetted area with a hairdryer on the cold setting, to further prevent water marks. Next, brighten any dark patches with the polishing pad and regrease with “Elephant Leather Grease”. Always test cleaning attempts in an inconspicuous area first.
