Coated leathers are dyed through and have a coated surface, usually consisting of a layer of colour and embossing. These leathers are low-maintenance and robust. As a result, they feel cooler and firmer than aniline or semi-aniline leather, but are also less delicate. The natural features are mostly covered by the coating and are therefore barely visible, if at all. However, it is important to note that leather is always a natural product that may feature small scars, tick bites and other similar markings, and that material-specific variations in colour and texture are entirely typical. Colour may transfer in heavily used spots, e.g. on the piping, edges or stitching.
